The VW KAMIQ GT's front grille, headlights and other details have restored the design of the concept car. You can see a lot of chrome decorations, which outline and embellish the car body. Many of them are the result of the determination and hard work of the Chinese design team.
When you first see the VW KAMIQ GT, it gives you a brand new feeling. The front face of the new car has very obvious changes compared to the KAMIQ. The overall design looks more fashionable and youthful, and it also gives consumers more freshness.
The interior of the VW KAMIQ GT is also different from that of the ordinary KAMIQ. Although the layout is still mainly symmetrical, the decorative strips added in the middle can add some vitality to the interior. The GT logo in front of the passenger seat is also its exclusive feature.
Three-Spoke Steering Wheel
Although the steering wheel is not wrapped in leather, it feels pretty good and is also equipped with multimedia adjustment buttons and scroll wheels.
Simple Dashboard
The double-cylinder instrument panel + monochrome driving computer is also Skoda's traditional style. The entire vehicle data is clear and easy to read. However, its style does seem a bit too simple when viewed now.
Central Control Screen
The performance of the VW KAMIQ vehicle multimedia system is quite satisfactory. The hardware uses a 9-inch touch screen with a resolution of 1280×720 and a very good display effect. The functions are relatively complete, supporting functions such as real-time traffic display and voice control, and the system responds quickly during the entire operation process.
Gear Shift Knob
The VW KAMIQ is paired with the 1.5L engine with an automated manual transmission (AT), with S gear and manual mode.
Rear Power Supply
The rear row is equipped with a 12V power supply, and it would be better if rear air vents could be added.
Door Panel Interior
The door panels of KAMIQ GT are covered with a variety of materials including leather, and colorful stitching is added to some parts, which makes it more classy than KAMIQ.
Front Seats
The integrated sports seats are undoubtedly the most attractive part of the KAMIQ GT car, and the overall shape has a strong sporty feel. In addition, the seats are made of leather + fabric splicing, and the embellishments of textures and stitching are just right. It's a pity that the adjustment method is still manual, which is consistent with the entire VW KAMIQ series.
Rear Seats
The rear row continues the design style of the front seats, but there is still an obvious lack of functionality. Armrests, central headrests and other configurations are not provided.
Panoramic Skylight
VW KAMIQ GT provides configurations such as cruise control, keyless start, tire pressure monitoring, and panoramic sunroof.
The Trunk
The trunk area of the VW KAMIQ GT is relatively regular. The rear seats can be folded down in a 4/6 ratio, but there is a significant gap between the rear seats and the trunk floor after being folded down, which is not smooth.
The front bumper shape of the VW KAMIQ GT does not copy the more exaggerated design of the concept car. It is still a one-piece shape, but the design of the decorative parts on both sides has been adjusted to make it look more coordinated.
The lines on the side of the vehicle are very simple and powerful. The vehicle also uses a black roof and is paired with silver D-pillars, which makes it very personalized.
VW KAMIQ GT continues the KAMIQ's layered rear shape, but has been redesigned in details such as taillights and rear surrounds. It has many design elements from the VISION GT concept car, and the overall visual effect is younger and more fashionable.
At the beginning of KAMIQ design, Skoda headquarters did not consider launching a GT version in the future. This inspiration came entirely from the R&D center in Shanghai, China.
