Next-generation Mazda 3 Angkesaila VS new generation Focus

Both cars have chosen the big mouth grille. The Mazda 3 is more luxurious, while the Focus has a more sporty feel because of the ST Line kit. Both have narrow headlights, but the Mazda 3 has a better overall design, while the Focus has a more dynamic fog light shape.

First, the Focus's lamps are more independent and more striking in shape. The Mazda 3's lamps are more closely related to the grille and have a simpler internal structure. Both high-end versions of the two cars have LED headlights, and the top-end versions are equipped with adaptive high and low beams.

As two compact cars that focus on sports, the rear end is very compact and has a fastback feel. Because of the sports kit, the side skirts of the Focus have a more performance car feel. In terms of waistline, the lines of both cars are relatively sharp, and the conventional middle waistline does not appear on either car.

As the two top models, the wheel size is 18 inches. The style of Focus is more in line with the tastes of young people, while that of Mazda 3 is more stable and takes the conventional route. The specific sizes are Focus 235/40 R18, Mazda 3 215/45 R18. With the help of the sports kit, Focus has an advantage in both style and size.

From the rear end, the Mazda 3 is more concise, without too many traces of design. The Focus wants to highlight its body lines, which can be seen from the taillights and the corners of the rear surround. There are two exhaust tailpipes in both models, but the Focus chooses to place them on the right side, while the Mazda 3 has one on each side.

In terms of taillights, the Focus is more angular, while the Mazda 3 is more conventional. However, in terms of light sources, the Mazda 3 is better, both are LED. The brake lights and turn signals of the Focus are still halogen. In terms of configuration, the Mazda 3 is the winner. In terms of styling, I guess young people will prefer the Focus.

In terms of chassis suspension, the Mazda 3 uses a front McPherson independent suspension and a rear torsion beam non-independent suspension; while the Focus STLine model used a front McPherson independent suspension and a rear multi-link independent suspension.

If the exterior of the Mazda 3 is more stable, then the interior is the opposite. The horizontal air-conditioning outlet is the current trend, and the center console design is very simple, almost perfectly interpreting the "T" shape. The design of the Lifox is very conventional and will not give you a strong sense of design and luxury.

Both cars are still tied in terms of door panel materials, with all accessible areas made of soft materials. However, the workmanship of the Mazda 3 is more delicate, with chrome trim added to the door panels, making it look more upscale. The Focus's imitation carbon fiber trim is obviously not as effective on the door panels as on the center console.

Both cars retain mechanical pointers and have LCD screens in the center, but the Mazda 3 still gives the driver a three-circle instrument feel. From this detail, it can be seen that the Mazda 3 is the more sporty car.

In terms of the size of the center console LCD screen, the two cars are almost the same. Mazda 3 has a slight advantage at 8.8 inches, while Focus is 8 inches. From the placement, it is also consistent with the feeling of the interior of the two cars. Mazda 3 is more avant-garde, while Focus is more conventional.

Both top-of-the-line models have dual-zone automatic air conditioning. However, there are some differences in the air conditioning control area. Mazda 3 continues the simple design style, reducing the number of physical buttons as much as possible. Of course, Focus is still a very conventional style.

In terms of the center console covering material, both cars performed well, and all the places that can be touched are made of soft materials. In terms of workmanship, Mazda 3 has a better advantage. In particular, the real stitching material is used between the panels of the center console. The advantage of Focus is that the trim is imitation carbon fiber style.

Because the Mazda 3's central control screen does not support touch, the gear area is equipped with corresponding physical buttons. On the other hand, the Focus supports touch, so the gear area is very simple, with only an unconventional knob-type gear lever.

Both seats are very sporty in the same class. Mazda 3 even has a similar integrated headrest. However, in terms of wrapping, the STLine version of Focus is better and more suitable for intense driving.

Both cars are equipped with rear air outlets, but if the rear passengers want to charge, only the Focus can satisfy you. From this detail, it can be seen that the Focus is more practical.

The trunks of both cars are relatively neat, and the rear seats can be folded down in proportion. In terms of space, the Mazda 3 has a slight advantage.
Editor's Comment:
Mazda 3 and Focus have always been a pair of "enemies" who are diametrically opposed. They have the same car-making concept, focusing on interpreting the sporty appearance design while also paying attention to the practicality of being a family car.
From the perspective of appearance alone, it is really difficult for me to make a choice between these two cars. The configuration of the two cars is also similar, but the Focus has a clear advantage in power parameters and the rear multi-link suspension of the Focus is more likely to be favored by consumers. However, it is hard to say whether the Focus, which has a full range of three-cylinder engines, can take advantage of the new Mazda 3.
