MG5 300TGI's front face adopts the family-style "shark hunting" big mouth grille, 12 symmetrical vertical chrome trims and smoked diamond air intakes, forming a three-dimensional layered sense. The MG logo above is moved up, and with the flat grille outline, it further stretches the horizontal visual width and lowers the center of gravity of the vehicle.

The headlights adopt the same "hunting pupil" design concept as MG7. The lamp group is equipped with automatic headlight function as standard. Although it does not use matrix LED technology, it achieves good night lighting effects through lens optimization.

The side of the body continues MG's classic Fastback design. The roof line slides smoothly from the A-pillar to the rear, and the slightly upturned ducktail creates a dynamic posture ready to go.

The waistline design is divided into two sections, front and rear. The side skirt lines under the door panels echo the outward expansion design of the rear fenders, increasing the power of the whole vehicle.

The 300TGI model is equipped with 17-inch two-color five-spoke petal-style wheels as standard, with 215/50 R17 tires, and the wheel surface is treated with a glossy and matte process. The tire brand is Kumho Shulechi SA01 series, which takes into account both quietness and handling stability.

The taillights are arranged horizontally, and the interior of the lamp cavity is smoked. The LED light strips converge from both sides to the center, forming a wing-like shape when lit.

The pilot light design is retained in the middle of the rear bumper, and a through-type red light strip is used to improve nighttime recognition.

The small ducktail design on the upper edge of the trunk lid not only optimizes the aerodynamic performance, but also adds a playful feel to the tail.

The newly added "Castle Gray" color scheme uses a special metallic paint process. It presents a dark gray in a dark light environment, and presents different tones such as purple, brown, and gold under strong light, depending on the angle, achieving a "one car, multiple colors" visual effect.

The window frame, the bottom edge of the side skirt and the rear diffuser decoration are all made of chrome, which contrasts sharply with the smoked roof and rearview mirror shell. This combination of "bright black + chrome" not only enhances the exquisiteness of the whole vehicle, but also strengthens the sporty atmosphere.

The three-spoke flat-bottom sports steering wheel is covered with matte plastic material, which feels solid but hard to the touch.

Multi-function buttons are integrated on the left and right sides: the left side is for cruise control/adaptive cruise control, and the right side is for multimedia and voice interaction control. The buttons are recessed, with clear feedback, but the key travel is short, so you need to adapt when operating blindly. The MG logo in the center of the steering wheel is matte metal, which echoes the overall sporty style.

Standard 12.3-inch full LCD instrument, resolution 1920×720, supports multiple theme switching. In normal mode, it displays vehicle speed, speed, endurance and other information; the navigation map can be projected onto the instrument screen simultaneously to reduce the driver's line of sight. The instrument screen supports linkage with the central control screen, and the display content can be quickly switched through the steering wheel buttons.

Equipped with a 12.3-inch floating touch screen, the resolution is the same as the instrument screen, and the Zebra Venus intelligent system is built in. It supports voice control, online music/radio and OTA upgrades. The system has good fluency, but the continuous command recognition ability is weak, and it needs to wait for the previous command to be executed before receiving a new command.

Low-end models support CarPlay/CarLife wired connection, and mid-to-high-end models only rely on the built-in system and do not provide wireless interconnection functions. The screen is tilted 14.1° to the driver's side, which improves the convenience of operation, but the reflection problem is more obvious under strong light.

The air conditioning control is integrated into the physical buttons below the central control screen, which is suitable for blind operation. There are two USB ports and a 12V power port below the air outlet. Unfortunately, there is no wireless charging configuration. PM2.5 filter is standard.

MG5 uses a compact electronic shift lever, which is similar in shape to an airplane joystick and covered with imitation leather, making it comfortable to hold. The automatic parking (Auto Hold) and electronic handbrake (EPB) are arranged behind the shift lever in sequence, and the button spacing is reasonable, making blind operation convenient.

The entire series is wrapped in imitation leather, with red stitching on the surface to enhance the sporty atmosphere. The seats are filled with a 20mm soft foam layer, which provides good support for the lumbar spine during long-distance rides. The top-of-the-line model has a 6-way electric adjustment for the driver's seat, and the co-pilot seat only supports manual adjustment. The entire series does not provide seat heating or ventilation functions.

The wheelbase of 2680mm provides nearly two fists of legroom in the back row, but the sloping back shape leaves only 5 fingers of headroom (for a 175cm tall user), which can easily lead to a sense of oppression during long-distance rides.

The rear row is equipped with air conditioning vents and a Type-C charging port as standard, but no central armrest or cup holder is provided. The door panel storage compartment can hold a 550ml bottle of mineral water, which is of limited practicality.

All models are equipped with a single electric sunroof as standard, with a lighting area of ​​about 0.3㎡, which can be opened in both lift-up and slide modes through physical buttons. The sunshade of the sunroof is manually operated, with good shading effect but average operating convenience.

Among the models of the same level, some competitors offer panoramic sunroof options, but the single sunroof design of MG5 focuses more on cost control and body rigidity balance, and does not sacrifice rear headroom due to the area of ​​the sunroof.

The material of the rear seats is the same as that of the front seats. The backrest angle is fixed and the inclination is large, which provides insufficient lumbar support during long-distance rides. The headrest is a non-adjustable one-piece design, which has limited adaptability to passengers of different heights.

The rear seats can be folded down as a whole (not in proportion), and can be expanded to a depth of 1840mm after folding down.

MG5 has a regular trunk volume of 462L, which can easily accommodate a 28-inch suitcase + a 20-inch cabin suitcase. The interior is neatly designed, with a non-full-size spare tire and tool kit under the trunk floor, and hooks and net bags on both sides to fix scattered items. The top-of-the-line model has an integrated lighting strip on the inside of the trunk lid, which makes it easier to retrieve items at night.

Compared to hatchback models of the same level (such as MG6), the trunk opening of MG5 is smaller, but the volume performance is better, which is suitable for daily household scenes.
