This is not the kind of dolphin you can see in the oceanarium. This new car named Dolphin defines itself as a pure electric new species, targeting the young people market.
BYD Dolphin top-end model is equipped with a total power of 130kW electric motor, battery energy of 44.928kWh, CLTC pure electric range of 401km, and power consumption of 11.3kWh per 100km.
The Dolphin center console adopts a symmetrical design, with a lot of curved shapes. The upper part is made of hard material, the middle blue high-gloss trim runs through the center console, and the lower part is wrapped in leather.
Leather Steering Wheel
Dolphin comes standard with a leather steering wheel, which adopts a three-spoke design and has a fishtail-like bottom. The buttons on the left side of the steering wheel control the cruise control, and the buttons on the right side control the car computer and media.
Instrument Screen
In front of the driver is a 5-inch full LCD instrument panel with compact information display, speed displayed on the top, vehicle information displayed on the bottom, and battery life displayed on the right.
Central Control Screen
In the center of the center console is a 12.8-inch rotatable screen that runs the DiLink system, integrates vehicle settings and entertainment functions, and has a built-in app store with rich downloadable resources.
Center Console Shortcut Buttons
Below the center console screen is a row of shortcut buttons that integrate functions such as gear lever, driving mode, air conditioning, volume, etc., and the surface is made of chrome.
Shift Lever
BYD Dolphin is equipped with an electronic shift lever, which adopts a lever design and is located on the far left of the central control shortcut buttons, with the P gear on the side. Except for the lowest-equipped model, the front row of the Auto Dolphin is equipped with a wireless charging plate, which is located in front of the central armrest.
Front Seats
BYD Dolphin comes standard with imitation leather seats, the front seats are designed in an integrated style, the Knight version uses an exclusive color scheme, blue and black two-color stitching, and red stitching on the edges. Except for the lowest-equipped model, the front seats are equipped with heating function.
Rear Storage
There are many storage bags on the back of the front seats, which makes it very convenient for rear passengers to put their mobile phones and other small items, and the practicality is immediately highlighted.
Rear Seats
Except for the lowest configuration, all BYD Dolphin rear seats are equipped with a central armrest, the middle seat cushion is not shortened, and the rear floor is flat.
Panoramic Sunroof
Except for the lowest-equipped model, all Dolphins are equipped with a non-openable panoramic sunroof with a sunshade.
The Trunk
The BYD Dolphin's trunk can easily hold two 24-inch suitcases, two children's suitcases and two backpacks, which can accommodate a family of four traveling without any problem.
BYD Dolphin adopts the marine aesthetic design concept. The closed front grille is connected to the light groups on both sides, with a "U"-shaped light strip on the periphery. The front surround is full and has a strong sense of layering.
The Dolphin is positioned as a small car, with a length, width and height of 4125/1770/1570mm respectively. The "Z"-shaped lines on the side of the car are sharp, and the waistline is connected to the taillights, presenting a diving posture as a whole. The Knight Blue color is exclusive to the Knight Edition.
The BYD Dolphin's tail is also very rounded with a waistline around the tail, and the through-type taillights make it look clearly layered.
Dolphin has two types of electric motors. The top-end model is equipped with a 130kW electric motor, and the other models are equipped with a 70kW electric motor. The CLTC pure electric range is 401km and 420km respectively. The whole series is equipped with a 60kW fast charge as standard. It takes 30 minutes to charge 30%-80%. Both fast and slow charging are located on the front fender on the passenger side.
